On the 10th of December the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled that the jailed philanthropist Osman Kavala, imprisoned from Oct 17 on, should be released: “Mr. Kavala …could not reasonably be suspected of having attempted to overthrow the Government by force or violence…the Court considered that the Government was to take every measure to put an end to the applicant’s detention and to secure his immediate release.”
