Professor of economics Kenan Mortan and professor of physical geography İbrahim Atalay have published a new book: “Türkiye’nin Kültür Atlası (A Cultural Atlas of Turkey)”. This co-authored book, published in January 2020 by Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları, is the result of 40 years of travels, field studies, conferences, and seminars throughout Turkey. It introduces the seven regions of the country through approximately 500 modules on the physical, industrial, socio-economic, human and cultural aspects, with an emphasis on change leaders and women whenever relevant. Although it presents the regions geography in detail, this is not a travel book, its purpose goes further than merely describe the country. It is an issue-oriented presentation of Turkey and its aim is to challenge the curiosity of the reader.
